Well it's working :) it's just that every time someone comes on the IRC channel and finds the solution ... they somehow forget to write a page on the wiki explaining how to do it. If i remember, i'll look in my logs when i get back from work and paste the intersting parts here.

Here are all the logs i have where aCiD2 talks. He's the one who finaly got the stream running. I'll let you find the intersting bits and pieces (i don't have time to sort it out). If you get it to work, please write a wiki page :) (http://wiki.videolan.org )

streaming mp3 to it is easy and works fine. I have had it working no problems.

I have even got it to send a video stream via it using theora and vorbis but the quality is unwatchable.

Here is the line i used for video.

vlc -vv mmsh://source stream:16780 :sout="#transcode{vcodec=theora,vb=256,scale=1,acodec=vorbis,ab=32,channels=1}:std{access=shout,mux=ogg,url=source:password@localhost:8000/listen}" -I dummy

just remove the video parts for audio.

anyone know how to make the video work properly ? or ifits even suupported ?
