mpgv and mpga

Postby christianday » 06 Jan 2007 08:13

Hi there,

I'm a bit lost and I did do a search one the forums and all over google, but can't seem to figure out what's going wrong. VLC does not seem to be playing .avi files for which the information says each stream is made of mpga and mpgv. I included a screen capture of the information. Basically, the VLC controller opens when I drag this kind of .avi file into the application icon and then runs through the timeline quickly without showing any video or audio. I've included a screen capture. I've tried VLC, MPlayer, and Quicktime with as many codecs (flip4mac, divx, and 3ivx) installed that seem to matter and no luck playing that kind of video. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Christian

Tonight I had a pb with reading a DVD. I made the following :
> after adding /etc/apt/sources.list
deb http://medibuntu.sos-sts.com/repo/ dapper free non-free
And then I run :
> sudo apt-get install libdvdcss2

And now, I am able to read the DVD.

Hope it can help.
