I have seen various references to VLC versions 8.6 and even 9.0 on these forums. However, these do not seem to be available for download. Are these developer-only beta versions? Do they even exist?
Just curious.

0.8.6 is next release which has bugfixes and some ameliorations that should be out soon. You can download 0.8.6-test2a.
0.9.0 is the release after 0.8.6. It is highly unstable and will have some big changes.
