Pink overlay over movies?

Sometimes when i try to play something in VLC, the film/movie/trailer or whatever gets a pink overlay, what can the problem be, and how can i fix it?

This never happends if i use Windows media player.

Edit: If i change to OpenGL in options(don't know what its called) the problems dissapare aswell.
Also this problem with VLC happends only if i've played a game for some time.

If it's just a random occurrence try shutting off the Video overlay in Preferences. The problem is probably your video cards drivers not agreeing with the way VLC uses DirectX. This is not a huge hit on CPU performance and is up to you if you wish to pursue it.

Its not a big deal, its just that its not that cool wathcing pink movies in vlc and wmp dosen't support all formats since idon't have any codec packs installed yet.

Euew! The dirty word! "Codec Packs" The best way to screw up a machine.
