Pink overlay over movies?

Postby Nitrius » 23 Aug 2006 23:15

Sometimes when i try to play something in VLC, the film/movie/trailer or whatever gets a pink overlay, what can the problem be, and how can i fix it?

This never happends if i use Windows media player.

Edit: If i change to OpenGL in options(don't know what its called) the problems dissapare aswell.
Also this problem with VLC happends only if i've played a game for some time.

If it's just a random occurrence try shutting off the Video overlay in Preferences. The problem is probably your video cards drivers not agreeing with the way VLC uses DirectX. This is not a huge hit on CPU performance and is up to you if you wish to pursue it. :)
