VLC Cygwin source compiled but executing without gui

Postby bijoy.sivan » 20 Jul 2006 20:18

Hi,

I have successfully compiled the latest version of vlc 0.8.6 source using cygwin and could get vlc.exe.

Whenever invoked it opens up only in the command line mode and I am able to play video files without any problem.

How do i get the full version of VLC player with GUI as the official release built from the source ?

Awaiting your response

Bijoy

I got the same problem: vlc without wxwin. I also try to enable wxwin explicitly (although it is on as default) in vain, using --enable-wxwin as an option of configure command.
During running configure command I noticed a warning as following:
"Warning: No config found to match: /usr/win32/bin/wx-config --unicode
in /usr/win32/lib/wx/config
If you require this configuration, please install the desired
library build. If this is part of an automated configuration
test and no other errors occur, you may safely ignore it.
You may use wx-config --list to see all configs available in
the default prefix."
Is is the cause ? How can I switch back to --ansi ? Because I cannot compile wxwin with unicode support
thank you

someone please reply this... i was able to compile vlc few days back... and it was all fine. now i got the same problem... does it has to do something with new cygwin version or something...:(

i am tired compiling it so many times with diffrent configs and older vlc source codes... but same problem.
