a silly noob question

Postby Lowmion » 09 May 2006 09:39

Hi ppls,
I mainly use nero media player as a default player, (as i like the adjustable equaliser),and reset it to that after installing the VLC media player, to play my favourite files.

How do i undo this?

How do I make the VLC media player to be the default, I've looked through the preferences etc and cant find a menu that says open these types of files or make default player.

Do I have to reinstall it each time?

Seems like such a silly question, but the g/f prefers vlc and likes to just click a file and vlc plays it.

Thanx for your help

Will stop the arguments for a little bit.......

Thnx, it looks like its a re-install after all, dang !!

Maybe future versions of the VLC should have an option to set as default, in the menu settings, this would allow the toggling of players and increase the "happy user syndrome".

Simply because i dislike "fixed" equaliser presets, everyone has different preferences and sound systems attached to there pc's.

Maybe i'm less orthodox than most, but thats just me i guess....

thnx again for the link :)

You don't have to use the presets. There is a graphic eq.

Try the settings tab and select extended GUI.
