Unfortunately, there is no Free decoder for AMR audio (used in 3GPP). Therefore VLC is unable to support it so far.

Here amr audio is working, if libffmpeg is compiled with amr support.

This is using the reference decoder which isn't GPL compatible. We can't use it by default in VLC.
