VideoLan and *nix

Postby miosis » 05 Mar 2006 21:56

Are there any builds of linux that include VideoLan? Any Live CD Versions? I would love to see it on either. I am trying to get my computer to play DVDs and other media types usually associated with windows or other proprietary formats via several versions of live *nix and have not had success. Currently I have one bootable non live system with no drives (CD/DVD) but has access to net. Then I have the other one I am trying to prepare a sturdy OS with multimedia capabilities. However it does not have net access or an OS at the present. I also need support for wireless mouse and keyboard with the OS (if possible many *nix distro live CDs I have tried would work otherwise. I just don't have an extra mouse atm keyboard always seems fine) for the computer in question.
