Default Audio Track

Postby eltodesukane » 01 Jun 2024 14:20

if Japanese and English audio tracks, VLC always choose English track.
If only Japanese audio track, VLC choose Disable because no English track.
I want always Japanese chosen, and if no Japanese then whatever audio track is there, not Disable.
How to fix?

It depends if the selection comes from the file, in which case you need to fix the files, or from your VLC preferences, in which case you need to undo them.

Check settings in VLC preferences:
Tools > Preferences > Show settings=All > Input/Codecs
Audio track [-1]
Audio language [jpn,ja,eng,en]
Audio track ID [-1]

Then you can use a dedicated tool to check/fix flags of audio tracks in your media files (MKVToolNix).
