DVD Will Not Play from External DVD Drive

Hi

I just purchased and added a new external DVD drive. VLC reads the the drive and the dvd in the drive but does not play DVD.
I reset preferances and still nothing.

Make sure to use an USB 3 port, those marked with the Super Speed SS logo, at least.
Also try with another USB port and with another USB wire.

No results. It reads the dvd, start ups up, the orange line/ball moves back and forth across the playing time lime at the bottom for a second then stops. If I click on play, the same thing happens.
I'm plugged into the USB 3 SS port. And I tried other ports. The same thing happens. Does VLC need to be uploaded again, even though I done this several times or is it a settings issue.

Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the conversion, and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com or on Justpaste.it if it's too long.

No messages in message page. Page is blank even when I set Verbosity to 2.

Impossible. You need to open the messages windows BEFORE you start the playback and to keep it open during the whole process.

Does it happen with all of your DVDs or just one ?

All DVDs. I've tried older and newer DVDs and the samething happens. It briefly tries to play then wont play.
