Problems connecting to NAS with VLC tvOS

VLC on tvOS can’t seem to stay connected to my NAS anymore. For the last 2 months, every time I login to the NAS from VLC (and save the login), it works for that session, but later forces the credentials to be entered again.

I’m not using a media server, when the NAS is mounted I just navigate through the folders in VLC to get to the MP4s I want to watch.

VLC is ver. 3.5.4.(605), tvOS is ver. 17.3. My NAS is a QNAP running QTS 5.1.3.2578.

You are connecting with SMB or SFTP, no? Do you have iCloud enabled and logged in on your Apple TV?

Yes, connecting with SMB. And the Apple TV is logged in to iCloud.
