video conversion mac

Postby lolxd » 03 Feb 2022 23:14

I am trying to convert video files on a Macbook Air M1, but converting only saves a direct copy of the original file I try to convert instead of actually converting. I have tried this on the latest release builds of MacOS Silicon and regular MacOS.

I have a similar problem:

when I go to "File" - convert/stream to convert an ogg audio file, VLC goes into a continuous loop and keeps saying if I want to overwrite the file. Only by immediately quitting VLC then can be terminated, because otherwise the popup window comes again and again.

I have chosen audio mp3 profile and simply saved it on my Mac mini M1 under Downloads.

I am having the same issue. VLC 3.0.20
Can't find any way of turning off looping that others talk about.
I'm on a Mac. Trying to convert an AVCHD file to MP4 I get "The output file already exists. If recording continues, the file will be overridden and its content will be lost."
I get one 160 byte file- and nothing else.
This isn't Converting any Stream. C'mon VLC- help some folks out.
