Deleting files on SD Card through VLC

Postby C3PO_Droids » 22 Jul 2023 00:47

Hello,

Apologies if this has already been asked, I couldn't find a similar post.

Earlier in the week I deleted a few large music files through VLC player that were stored on my SD card, however the storage available has not increased as expected. Is there a cache that I should be checking or similar fix to ensure that the files were deleted properly? I've restarted my phone (Android) and cleared VLC players cache but made no difference.

Thanks

Until someone arrives who knows the internals, I suggest:
•Be sure you deleted them (VLC asks, "DELETE FOREVER?") and didn't just remove them from the play queue.
•Verify with a file manager like My Files that the files have actually been deleted.
I don't think VLC keeps secret copies, nor that there is a "Recycle Bin" to enable undeletion.

Hi, how did you delete it, using the three dots to the right of the file ? Can you check if the file is still accessible using an other browser ?
There isn't any cache, and when the app deletes a file it just tells the system to delete the file, there shouldn't be anything left.
