An error pops up at startup.

Is it being treated?

Code: Select all

MSVC++ Assertion Failed

What kind of discs ? CD, DVD, BD, or all of them ?

Please run VLC with this command line for creating a log file:

Code: Select all

vlc --extraintf=logger --verbose=2 --logfile=C:\temp\vlc.log --logmode=text --file-logging

and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com or on Justpaste.it if it's too long.
Make sure you have full access rights to the destination path.

Then you should create a new ticket on the VLC Trac with your above report, the link to your log file and the link to this thread:

That looks like a media library bug, not a VLC bug. So no, don't file a bug against VLC.

Also VLC Trac no longer exists.

You don't answer my question: what kind of discs are you trying to play ? CD, DVD, BD, or all of them ?
And how are you playing them ? Through a menu item ? if so, which one ?

Code: Select all

revision 4.0.0-dev-23638-gdccda0e133 E:\Program Files\Borland\Delphi7\RealThinClient\Demos\RTC_WebServer\VLCPortable\App\vlc\

I don't know where this version of VLC comes from but you should use the latest build from the official site.
https://nightlies.videolan.org

And this is the official way for making VLC portable:

Good afternoon. Thanks for the reply. The error message pops up after the launch vlc.exe without parameters. I just assumed about the disks based on the text of the error message. And special thanks for the reminder about the portable folder. I missed this moment. The issue is resolved, the topic is closed
