Open in VLC Media Player is not working in Chrome

Hi, I want to watch videos on Telegram but each time I try I get a black screen on which is written 'Media is too big'. Example link:

It is impossible for me to watch. No clicking on anything helps. There is no option to download. I can't run Telegram desktop because I don't have a smartphone. The only solution I found was to install Open in VLC Media Player. This is the page telling you what to do (it's in Russian):

I installed Open in VLC Media Player and restarted my computer and browser but when I right click on the video as instructed, there is no option in the pop-up menu to open the link in VLC player, as the link says there should be.

Can anyone help? Thanks!

You just paste the link with ctrl+v onto the vlc ? You cannot open other videos exept Youtube.

Every link, or just that from telgram ? you might try to download an plugin from official plugins page

I tried a to open a random Youtube video in VLC Player and nothing happened.

Open in VLC Media Player is a plugin and I got it from the official page.

Oh ! my bad ! I did not mentioned that you have to download the lest .lua script to run external network files. You can find it here ;
https://github.com/videolan/vlc/blob/ma ... outube.lua download it and put the file onto
C:\Program Files (x86)\VideoLAN\VLC\lua\playlist and replace the exist youtube.lua file.

Thanks! I can now open Youtube videos in VLC Player. Telegram still doesn't work though.
