I am Ahmed Alaa. I am a computer engineering student. I saw that the VideoLAN organization provided an idea for the 2022 program. I wonder if you will provide it this year too. This project is "VLC Qt interface redesign". I am interested in the development of a VLC media player for windows and Linux. Can you provide me with more information and steps on how should i proceed, and how to be able to contact Mr. Pierre (the Proposed mentor announced in your Wiki). Thanks in Advance.

Hi Mr.Pierre,

My name is Suraj Shikhar. I am a second year student at IIIT Senapati, Manipur, India. I have a good foundation in computer science and have gained some practical experience through internship in a startup named NONALIFESTYLE which is Gurgaon,India based. My knowledge of git, Linux, and MySQL will be very useful in software development.

I have always used VLC on my all the devices and used to think that VLC should also have this and that features. I have many ideas/plan for the UI and designs of VLC.

I have completed a UI/UX course on Coursera and have some ideas for the design of VLC. The ability to create an intuitive and user-friendly interface is a valuable skill in software development, so my knowledge in this area will be an asset.

I am already working on personal projects and expanding my knowledge beyond my coursework.I have a project to animate sorting algorithms using Qt.

As for my interest in the development of a VLC media player for Windows and Linux, "VLC Qt interface redesign" it sounds like a challenging and rewarding project. VLC is a widely used media player, and any improvements to its interface could benefit a lot of people.

I will start by familiarizing myself with the VLC codebase and its current interface. Once I have a good understanding of how it works, I can start to think about improvements and begin to design a new interface. Collaboration with other VLC developers or joining a VLC project on GitHub could also be beneficial.
