Audio Continues When VideoLan Is Closed

Postby simonwilliams » 06 Feb 2006 11:47

Strange problem this.
Sometimes, not always VideoLan will continue to play the audio of whatever was being played after I have quit the program. The program closes, nothing visible on screen.

The only way to stop the sound then is to ctrl - alt - del & manually end videolan in processes or wait for it to reach the end of the file.

Strange thing, does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Considering that VLC uses DirectX by default, it sounds (no pun intended) like the card is not receiving the command to stop so it is not acknowledging the command so VLC is not really closing.

I would suggest Updating your sound card's drivers.
