a new file - a new instance of vlc media player?

Postby Cursy » 04 Feb 2006 13:45

I started to use vlc media player. I like the program but there is something which I don't like and I don't know if it's possible to solve this now or if it's a feature request.

If I doubleclick a file when vlc is already open a second instance of vlc starts. I don't want that. Is it possible to change that? I don't find an option for that. It would be great if the new file would be added to the playlist instead of starting a new instance of vlc!

Perhaps sb can help me.

Settings - Preferences - Advanced - Other - check "Allow only one running instance" - save and restart.
