I'm a newbie here.
Looking for VLC developer for a small project.
also, I would like to know whether a vlc derived tool may be used as part of a larger, for profit project.

VLC is mostly LGPL, with a few parts GPL, so it is possible under certain conditions, to use it in a proprietary project.
