Merging files

Postby Cryog » 11 Sep 2020 18:08

I've done this before, but forgot how & none of the online instructions are helping me.

I have VLC v3.0.11
I want to merge 2 .mov files together & also add a few seconds of blank frames between them.

I have been able to convert the files to the .mp4 format, but I can't get them to merge.
And can I add blank frames between them?

Although it can do it, VLC is not an editor. And there are some issues when muxing to MP4.
It will be easier and faster to use a dedicated video editor tool such as AviDemux:

You can also use Shotcut. It's a very comprehensive video editing application which is entirely free. There are many tutorials for it on youtube and they also have their own forum. I've used it myself to merge videos I've taken on flights during takeoff / landings.

Lotesdelere & Hitchhiker,

Sorry for the delay in responding, I forgot I had posted this question
Thank you for the information, I'll look into both suggestions.
