VLC 3.0.8 won't play many AVI files

Hi, with latest version, VLC 3.0.8, many AVI files won't play. Nothing happens, no errors. VLC seems to stay opened in the background when I close it, though.
I had to revert back to version 3.0.7.1.

Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback, and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com if it's too long.

It's from a video camera and, according to mediainfo, the codec is MJPG.

This file won't open with VLC 3.0.8 and does open with VLC 3.0.7.1. As I said, no errors in the log and VLC stay opened in the background when I close it.
