Stop VLC from sleeping

Postby AdamOnDemand » 16 May 2014 21:06

I'm sure there's a good answer for this -- just haven't been able to find it.

I like to set up VLC with nice long audio playlists, but when my Macbook Pro (Oct 2012 model, running latest OSX 10.9.2 and latest VLC 2.1.4 Rincewind for Intel x64) goes into sleep mode (whether plugged into power or not) VLC finishes out the currently playing track and then audio stops -- I believe VLC continues to play through the playlist, however sound turns off. How can I set up VLC or system preferences so that it keeps playing through the playlist so that I can hear it?

Thanks!!

Adam

Current behaviour should be so that the display might turn off, but the mac itself stays awake. How long is one item in your playlist?

Regular music albums with mp3 tracks each between 2-7 minutes.

I have the exact same problem on my iMac. I wish they would do something about it.

Just found the answer to this problem: download VLC Player v1.1.x!

2.2.1 is very old and completely unsupported. Update to 3.0.7 and try again, please.
