Autoplay next file in folder

I tend to watch videos (either TV series or lectures) at the gym and the option to automatically play the next file in a folder without having to create a playlist every time would be awesome.

Basically I'd like to be able to click a file, have it pick up where I stopped watching last time and then play the next video file in the folder automatically when it ends. I know VLC does the first at the moment and would love it to do the second too.
