VLC 2.0.4 - opening new instance for each video/audio

Postby Hard Of Hearing » 22 Dec 2018 05:30

Using VLC 2.9.4 as I **** NEED **** mono playback, which was dropped after this version as I am hard of hearing and sound levels fluctuate in each ear.

The very reason I got VLC was it's LIFE CHANGING volume boost and mono functions.

Suiddenly, without me doing anything, VLC 2.0.4 is opening a new instance for each video or audio I play

With my hearing , I NEED the graphic EQ set so the lower, bass sliders are compressed completely, and the higher frequencies are enhanced.

I now have to do this adjustment for every song or video.

How do I get it back to opening every video/audio in the same VLC?

I have the 'onky one instance' checked.

How do I edit this post to take out the typos?

Also, using Windows 7 Home Premium.

Tools -> Preferences (Show settings = All) -> Advanced

There are two options:

Allow only one running instance
One instance when started from file

Make sure both options are ticked, save the preferences then exit and restart VLC.
