Subtitles not shown on AppleTV 4 and 5

After updating to VLC Version 3.0.1 for Apple TV on both my apple tv's 4 and 5 there is no subtitle after selecting one.
When plain a movie using the open subtitle function in VLC player you can select a subtile file, but it doesn't show.
This is already a problem for some time now when will this issue be solved?

I see that other Version already have 3.0.3.
What does it take so long for the Apple tv?

For whom also has the same problem, if found out a way to solve it.
At least a way that didn't work in a previous version of VLC for Apple TV.

Just place the .srt file in the same directory as your video file and rename it as the name of the video file.
Then when you start VLC on your Apple TV you will automatically see "Track 1" beneath the subtitels.

and now it works

Nevertheless a would really want to ask the VLC developer team to solve te problem with the open subtiles not showing when selecting them.

Hi Felix,

I'm running VLC 3.02 and have an srt file with the same name as the video file in the folder but am still not seeing subtitles. The AppleTV device is running TVOS 11.3.

When I go into the Track Selection menu, I see a link to download from opensubtitles.org but no Track 1 in the subtitles section. Note that the old Elmedia player on the same TVOS devices work perfectly with both the video and the subtitle files - it automatically loads and plays the sub and so that's the way I'm working for the moment.

Happy to do any tests or screenshots or whatever to show you what I'm seeing.

I am on AppleTV 4th Gen tvOS 11.4 with VLC 3.0.6(309) and I have this same issue.

I have the .srt file in the same folder as the .mp4 file.
I have "Automatically Play Next Item" enabled in Settings

Is anyone else seeing this?

When I navigate into the SMB drive with those files, I only see the .mp4 file but not the .srt file in the browser.

This setting should be renamed. I though it has a different meaning.
