Suggested, requested this in "VLC for Android and Chrome OS"-forum three years ago, but maybe it'll get noticed better here.

Would be nice to use VLC to watch movies with Google Cardboard VR headset.

There is an Android application called "VR Cinema", which does this, but it does not support all those different video formats like VLC does.
