Change vlc's color scheme

Postby thugo » 04 Feb 2018 13:12

Hello everybody,

I am trying to change vlc's color scheme to a dark one. Just vlc's ... not the system wide one.
For this I did edit the vlcrc ... but without success .... vlc still takes the system scheme.

What am I missing here? Can you help me?

Best regards,
Thomas

PS: I am running Linux Mint 18.3 KDE Edition.

I found a solution:

Change the system-theme ... start vlc ... save the home/user/.config file as /home/user/.config_alternative ... change back the system-theme to the original one.

Start vlc with:

Code: Select all

export XDG_CONFIG_HOME=/home/user/.config_alternative ; vlc

Works like a charm! :-)

Do you run Linux?
