What's the story with VLC on SUSE 10 so? Will it work at all? It's one of my most used apps on Windows and would be a major reason to not moving to SUSE alltogether.
Or are there alternatives?

These packages works perfectly in my Suse 10 for x86_64.

Starting to get a real headache from all those dependencies. Half of them install (but then still show up as dependencies when I go to install VLC) and the other half have some obscure problem at the configure or make stage. If Linux is going to be popular it's going to have to be a lot easier for people to install popular software like VLC. I never liked the MS Windows sociopathic business philosophy but at least it was simple enough to play a movie file!

Add PackMan to your Yast source and install VLC wit Yast. You should add a SuSE ftp to your Yast source too. You will not get a problem with the dependencies.

Hi, did that and checked dependencies, still one dependency but that's a lot less than before! Thanks!

Oops! Spoke too soon I think.
That one dependency was libdvdcss which I dowloaded, did a ./configure, make & make install but it still comes up as dependency. Tryed logging out + rebooting but still there. Do I need to do something so it can be seen?

You need to build a rpm for libdvdcss. If you install from source the rpm db can't know that the lib is installed.
