Pixelated videos for some files

Hello,
I've some problems with VLC 2.2.2-2.2.5 (latest version I could test against):
Some files are working fine, mp4-h264 including 1080p@60fps, but some (not all) MKV files aren't doing so.
I've pixelations, but not from the start, it's like the "delayed mouse cursor" option in windows. (See screenshot)

The problem is not arising using the Gnome player or MPlayer, VLC for windows (in wine also) or VLC for android.
(I can start VLC for windows in Wine and it's flawless playing this file, which is kinda funny.)
I've already encountered this issue with WMV files, (and for the WMV files: they are crashing the whole X-Server!) , working fine in other players. But the mkv occurence was better to report, as I could see under the stream info, that the good working and the bad working files both had the same decoder working.

It's not always happening directly from the start, and if a complete repaint? is required, as the whole scene changes, everything get's cleared, untill something moves in the new scene again. (Scene = new complete picture, Moving = chopper over background, which is prob. a compression thing)

Version: 2.2.2 - 2.2.5
Kubuntu 16.04
QT 5.5.1
Kernel 4.4.0
64bit, Nvidia GTX 965M, intel i7
Opengl output, doesn't matter which one I use, same result.
Hardware acc. is on 'auto'

If further information is required, please say so.

I hope this can be resolved, having to switch between players on the same filetype is annoying and I really like VLC and it's QT-GUI.

Update:
When I use VLC for windows in Wine, the codec information seems to be more complete then in the linux broken version:

The "decoded format" wasn't show at all before, the pixel are now +18, in the output of the working VLC in the emulator.

VLC 2.2.2 is no longer supported. In any case, this is more likely a bug in your libavcodec version or your display drivers. Try disabling hardware accelerated decoding.

As stated above I've tried it with 2.2.5, following your statement on bug reports for older versions, and the same happens.

Ok, so after I chose as Hardware-Decoder the "VA-API over DRM-Decoder" or the X11 (having less performance) option everything's working fine and the XServer doesn't crash any more on some videos. (Endless hangup with a reaction every 10 secs) This makes even more sense, as the pixelation's appearance / timing was randomized. The problem that jumping inside videos created effects like if the buffer got an underflow is now also gone.
This affects only my NVIDIA card, disabling it and using the intel internal APU does not produce this problem, regardless the video and or decoder.
Thanks for your patience, this option didn't come to my mind at first sight, even more as the Video output mode made some impact, leading me to the wrong conclusion.
Hopefully this helps some other people facing these bugs.
