Folder content played insead of listing it

Hi

My setup is iPhone 4s/iPad Air 2/Apple TV 4 ech with latest iOS and latest VLC version.
MKV files hosted on a Synology NAS connected with LAN to the WLAN Access Point.

Due to the fact that playing MKV videos from NAS using UPnP isn't usable (video artefacts, video freezes, stuttering) I switched to use SMB witch regarding to video playback works as a charm on all 3 devices over same (WLAN) connection.
But from time to time, or to force it when changing 'Network Caching Level' to Lowest Latency, VLC plays the first video on a selected folder instead of opening the selected folder and listing the files in it.

Is there a setting i missed to activate or could you fix this please? Thanks!

I have experienced the same problem. It's actually a bug in VLC when browsing SMB shares. I submitted a patch to fix it. The next iOS and tvOS version should not have this problem anymore.
