Only sound, no video

Postby McCoy » 29 Feb 2016 05:17

 All off my videos on a stock Nexus 5 are playing only sound, no video. MX Player and QuickPic are reproducing properly the same files. On another device, a Kit-kat tablet, VLC is doing fine with the same files. Disinstalled and reinstalled VLC and VLC Beta with no changes. Any suggestion?

Thanks!

And again getting only sound, no video. I guess it must be me but I don't know what I've done differently.

Had the same problem - on Asus Memopad 7.
Previous versions worked fine, but after installing Beta version - 1.9.7 only could get the audio from video files, but no image:
- on starting the video, I would be able to see the image, for one or two seconds; the same on stopping.
- then I discovered the "miniature" option, and in miniature the image was ok (and sound too).
- so I thought «Okay, image is shown but only under certain conditions...
- went to "settings -> hardware acceleration" and selected "Full Acceleration" (not sure about the exact terms, as my menus are all in portuguese).
It worked, and now I can see full image. In all the previous versions never had this problem.
