Hey Fkuehne thanks for the reply but I still cannot get this version to work using my Digi hardware. I'm using 10.4.3 and the latest Digidesign Core Audio driver so if you have any more ideas that would be great.

Question:

I have a dvd (Everywhere But Home - Foo Fighters). This dvd contains eastereggs wich requires that you "push" buttons in order to unlock the eggs. I have to push som numbers, but I can't get this to work with vlc. I know it works on InterVideo WinDVD. Any solution to this problem?

I'm noticing a lot of improvements in the way VLC handles x264 files, but alas it's still skipping out on me during fast-paced scenes. My computer is an Apple G4 533 dual processor "Digital Audio" edition, 768 ram. Only one other application running, and it was a low-cpu usage app. The x264 encode (a dual audio mkv with subtitles playing) played fine and dandy until there was a bit of motion in the show, and it clonked out after the video froze (audio still worked). I was using the 0.8.4 test-1 incarnation of VLC, and it didnt get nearly as good of results as this build has. I commend you guys for that

@ Dandruff: just a quite note: The binary on our main download server is not the final version. We are currently fixing a bug in the DirectX-audio-output-module and release a really quick Windows-only test3 first.
A final release will follow tomorrow or Thursday.
It would be nice if you could participate in the test3 and check whether it works for you. A separate thread will announce this beta version.

Concerning your slider issue: it might be related to the bug we have just fixed, so please just try again. If this doesn't solve it, I fear that a proper fix won't make it for 0.8.4. Please mail vlc-devel@videolan, if the problem is still in test3.

no. same (no volume slider) behaviour. i'm using win32-waveout, not direct(x)sound! maybe it has something to with Ticket #250!? i don't know ...



and (imo) Ticket #230 also should be fixed in the final. looks really bad.

Like the subject says, I'd like vlc player to disable the screen saver when playing a movie, and then turning it back on when it's closed. I mean its really annoying when that thing pops up every 10 mins.. thanks
