how to extract mp3 from mp4

Postby videomax » 02 Oct 2015 00:06

I followed procedures found on the web and can't get it to work.
I do:
MEDIA > CONVERT/SAVE > FILE > add the mp4 file
press CONVERT/SAVE button
select MP3 profile
click TOOLS button
the problem is, whatever encapsulation is selected, that is the type file it will create, and there is no MP3 encapsulation option.
this is regardless of what audio codec is selected.

Also if I follow the instructions here
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/2719/how ... -with-vlc/
I end up with an unplayable mp3 file

What is the proper procedure to extract the mp3 audio ?

Thanks in advance.

Use RAW encapsulation.

I just noticed this problem.
Even though I selected 256kb/s bit rate, the mp3 produced has a variable bit rate.
How do I get 256k constant?

nevermind ... switching back to 44100 sample rate fixed the problem
