Vlc 2.2.1 doesn't set font size for subtitles incorporated in video file

Postby raffamaiden » 21 Aug 2015 21:34

I dowloaded some videos from Youtube using 4K downloader, with the option to incorporate subtitles in the video file. The resulting files are of this format, as reported by MediaInfo:

When I play the videos with VLC, i have to right-click -> subtitles->sub track -> track 1 to activate the subtitles. But they are displayed using a small font size which I want to increase. Thus I go to Tools->preferences->Subtitles and set a larger font size but it doesn't have any effect in the display of these subtitles. I tried to close VLC and reopen it.

Instead it has effect for external subtitles in the srt format, located in another file different from the one that contains the video. So this problem seems to be only for sbtl subtitles incorporated in the file.

Please open Tools -> Messages (set Verbosity to 2) before you start the playback, and then paste the full resulting log here or on Pastebin.com if it's too long.

Also upload a short sample of a problematic file to either http://streams.videolan.org/upload/ or to Zippyshare.com (200 MB max) or to EmbedUpload.com, the latter will upload the file for you to several other hosts (use the default ones) and then post the link to the file here.

If needed cut it with DGsplit and read here about how to do it:
viewtopic.php?f=14&t=57724&p=193335#p193335
50 MB max should be enough.

This should be fixed in 3.0.0. Please try a nightly build.
