You should contact your distro or package maintainer if you want an update to your Linux VLC. It´s unlikely that (s)he will read this post.

But VLC 3.0 Linux master build by ppa. You are the owner or?

Can you update? Stable build perfect.

It´s not done by VideoLAN. It´s done by the Debian/Ubuntu multimedia team.

And that master-daily ppa is currently dead, should not be used unless one wants a 15 wk+ old dev version...
