Cloud - Dropbox - won't connect

Postby malthus101 » 02 Jun 2015 22:35

Hi

Only downloaded the VLC app a few days ago.

When I try to connect it to Dropbox, it takes me to Dropbox, prompts me to login. That takes me back to VLC / Dropbox login. I press login, it takes me to Dropbox and so on in a circle but never actually logging in.

Thanks.

This is weird indeed. Are you use you downloaded the legitimate "VLC for iOS" app from the store and not a fraud with broken Dropbox support? The only official version is here: https://itunes.apple.com/app/vlc-ios/id650377962

Yes I just checked again, it's the 2.5.1 version with 39 reviews for the current version.

It's also doing the same thing on my iPhone 5s as on the iPad 2 I'm using.

Thanks.

I have tried it on 2 different wifi systems - should I try it with mobile data only?

Really silly question: is your Dropbox app logged in? Are you using the latest version of the Dropbox app?

I managed to get a connection on my iPhone when I turned off wifi and used data - suddenly then I could see all my Dropbox content and was able to begin playing video back.

But I'm testing it again now and it's doing the same thing of just going between the login pages.

Seems to be an intermittent problem. It actually shows the lines that each Dropbox folder sits on, just not the folders themselves.

How come in did work for data once but never for wifi? Why does the connection type matter?

Thanks.

I'm a bit puzzled to be honest. With regard to cloud integration, VLC behaves absolutely the same for mobile data and WiFi connections (as in that it doesn't even detect which transport way it is using).

Just tried Google Drive - it can see only 6 folders/files there but when I open a folder, it says no supported files.

This was done via data not wifi.

Which file? VLC iOS can only media file, show on display. I can not reproduce, with my iPad Mini 3.
Has you iOS 8.3?

iPhone is iOS 8.3

iPad 2 is iOS 8.1.2

Perhaps someone can help. I am having the same problem with Google Drive with my iPad air. It shows all of my folders, but they are empty saying there is "no supported files", when they are all media files.

I've gone through the forums and I've tried a number of different things. Granted, the folder size is about 50GB, so I thought it possibly just needed time to load, but nothing ever happens. All of the folders are empty. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Google drive but it is the same problem. Any ideas?
