This has been a common complaint from VLC users for some time now, it seems.

You might try the method described in my post here: https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.ph ... 50#p419050

It is also covered in lots of other threads here. This method would basically switch out the image that VLC has cached for the album, so it is more of a "workaround" fix.
