Missing .hosts file

Hi

I've been searching for the hosts file to make a small edit but it doesn't appear in either Contents/MacOS/share/http/.hosts or /Contents/MacOS/share/lua/http/.hosts .

I have used terminal to make sure all hidden files are shown, it still does not appear

Has anyone encountered this before?

I think this file does not exist anymore in the newest VLC version. It got replaced by the http interface password.

Thanks for your reply - thought this might have been my problem but there must be some other issue on the software I'm trying to stream to

So is there an alternative way to restrict access by IP range? I'm not crazy about running a password-protected server that responds to requests from anywhere.
