VLC web plugin not working on Mountain Lion?

The web plugin (nightlies) prooves very unstable on OSX 10.9.4:

The last 10 or so nightlies don't work at all because the libvlccore library is referenced wrongly.

That's why it didn't work out for me...

Do you guys know if you have to have installed Flash to make it work or it's a total alternative to Flash?

The VLC-webplugin nightly is still broken - as has been the case for the last 3 month.

This plugin will not be available for the newest versions of Chrome in the very near future, because Chrome completely removed the technique used by our plugin. Instead, Chrome uses a new framework for plugins, which we are not using currently. Maybe we will adapt our code to this framework at some time, but I cannot give any promises here.

How does this plugin actually work? Is it like a YouTube5 or ClickToPlugin replacement so you can uninstall flash and play all embedded videos in HTML5 but using VLC embedded media player?

i downloaded it but when i try to install just open a some files and folders.. how to do? or maybe i need to put somewhere?

i downaloded and installed the latest webplugin on macosx Yosemite 10.10.1 .
Both Safary and Firefox test detect the installed VLC web plugin 2.2.0 nightly 30Nov2014.
I'm trying to embedd RTSP ipcamera in HTML page but nothing appear.

Need to open dmg and drag and drop "VLC plugin.plugin" into "Internet Plug-Ins" folder, Mac will ask user credential for complete the installation.
