.viv files

Postby thany » 05 Jul 2006 21:56

.viv files are VivoActive files. I think it's a format that has been used a couple of years ago on the internet for streaming. It's very uncommon by now, but every now and then I still run into these files. It seems that the company that orginally invented it, has been bought by Real. And unfortunately Real is officially unsupported by VLC (hopefully it will be supported in the future) so I guess this is a shot in the dark...
I reject your reality and substitute my own.

I think Mplayer still reads Vivo Files. So it (maybe ?) could be implemented in VLC; if it is not already.

So it's eight years later. Are they supported yet? I have a .viv file I've been wanting to play for like two stupid decades now, it doesn't work in VLC and there is literally no solution anywhere on the whole internet anymore. Windows media player directs you to Realplayer and Real doesn't even come close to supporting it.

This is ridiculous.
