How to stream HW MPEG2 flow from a PVR150 with 2 PC XP Home

Postby vice-amiral » 14 Oct 2005 14:43

Hi all,

Seems easy to do but I did not find yet a clear explanation on how to do the following.

I have on one PC (server) with Windows XP home edition (service pack 2 all driver up to date) a haupaugge card Win TV PVR 150. Connected to this card I have a set top box. I want to stream this video to another PC (also with windows XP home SP2...up to date).

On both PC I have instaled VLC.

What I cannot do is to stream the hardawre encoded flow without decoding it and encoding it on the server.

What I can do and what is working and what I've done:
I'm able to stream any video file
I'm able to see the video on the serveur when I select "play localy" or open a captured device.
I' tried with the diffusion wizard and with the open a captured device and flow output. I tried all the parameters I could find.
I tried also with the command line
I'm able to stream the video from the PVR 150 if I decode it and re-encode it again.
I ve tried many nigthly build included since 0.82 without improvment.
Sage TV is working the way I would use VLC (but does not fit all my requirments).
When I simply folow the diffusion wizard I don't have anything on the client PC and almost no activity on the server PC and of course no activity on the network.

Does anybody succeed to do what I'm trying to do and could help me

Many thanks in advance

Best regards

I face the same problem with my PVR150.
Can you at least play real time video locally WITH audio? I can see the video picture but cannot get audio.
In addition, what "messages" do you get while you are trying to stream?
Regards.
