Abort playing any APE audio on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, Segme Fault

I have just updated to Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, from Ubuntu 13.10.

But it appears I cannot play any APE right now, it crashes. While using verbose output, the log says nothing but Segment Fault. Before the upgrade, everything is fine, but right now, it is not OK. I can play every media else OK. The VLC GUI crashes instantly after I played this audio. The Totem player, too, crashes, without report. Rhythmbox simply cannot play the file. But the smplayer/mplayer is playing it OK, seem to use the ffape - FFmepg Monkey's Audio [ape] codec. I guess it is a codec problem. Since I cannot figure out what the codec the two crashing player is using, I don't know where to begin.

The gstreamer1.0-* is installed and the ffmpeg-* is installed.

Your VLC is tool old.

What do you meam by "my VLC is too old"? It is the latest stable version of VLC in the repository, and when I updated to VLC media player 2.2.0-git Weatherwax (revision 2.2.0~~git20140409+r56317+122~ubuntu14.04.1) the problem stays still. Note that the version on the official site homepage is 2.1.3.

I am also using vlc 2.1.2 from ubuntu 14.04 I haven't tried playing any APE files yet. But both version of vlc from ubuntu 14.04 and from the stable branch PPA can't play MusePack files. Version 2.0.8 plays OK on Ubuntu 13.10

In 14.04 some player fail on mpc with currently used libmpcdec6

I wasn't very sure about adding that ppa to my ubuntu. So I downloaded mpcdec source from it. And built the debs with pbuilder. My VLC is playing musepack files as I write this message!
