VLC is unable to open the MRL

Postby androidodnetnin » 28 Oct 2013 13:20

I have tried several times this morning (unsuccessfully) to stream a video from my main PC to my laptop. Both are on the same network, via a wireless router (Netgear), so I wanted to see if I could stream on my internal network before trying on the computer in the front room, which has a different IP address. However, I continue to get the same error message:

Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'http://[redacted]:8080'. Check the log for details.

I've additionally turned off my Windows firewall and disabled my Norton Anti-Virus Smart Firewall of both laptop and PC while trying to connect the streams. Below, I've included the debug messages from VLC player, but I've redacted the IP address of my network. Any advise on what else I can try would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

I had assumed that is was a problem with my firewall or Norton. Is there a standard way to do this, like is it in the router settings?
