vlc one-instance

In my libvlc qt based player i need to always use an one instance, i.e. when a media file is double clicked while another file is running, the double clicked file should open in the same instance that currently running. It may close the existing file and start to play the new file. But, when I double click the new file it will open a different application instead of playing it in the already opened application. What should I do to remedy this

This is outside the scope of LibVLC. Check the Qt or OS documentation.
