No sound with HD ,mov file

Postby Newbie123 » 08 Sep 2005 21:43

I have sound and video when I play "normal" .mov files like these :
http://www.apple.com/trailers/
because I have the qtmlClient.dll in the VLC dir.

However I don't have the sound, only the video, when I play one of these files, the HD .mov :
http://www.apple.com/quicktime/guide/hd/

Could someone help to enable the sound ?

Thanks

The HD mov sample from apple use aac audio. Do you know if your vlc binray was build with faad ? Start vlc with --list from cmd and look for "faad AAC Audiodekoder". You need a binary with faad support.

Some aac under windows doesn't work. Unfortunatly the vlc windows version was compiled with a broken faad version the last 2 releases.

It will be fixed in a next release.
Don't use PMs for support questions.

Thanks for your replies.

@Teetrinker,
Sorry, but I don't now what your talking about or how to do it !!

@The DJ,
If you think the problem may be solved with a next
release, when may that be and will it be 0.83 ?
