Help with the two Blu Ray files

Postby smike » 13 Dec 2012 06:54

I'd like to use VLC to play Blu Ray discs. I followed the instructions to download the files needed.

I put the AACS file in the VLC directory, where the application itself is. I put the keys database in the AppData folder. I get a message saying that file is missing. Do I have it in the wrong spot? I downloaded VLC from a zip file for easy installation so the directions for the Keys Database file didn't make much sense.

The key database must be in %appdata%/aacs

I still get the message:

"Your system AACS decoding library does not work. Missing keys?"

I made a folder called "aacs" and stuck the cfg file in there.

I'm not sure, but i am having the same problem. I think VLC needs to update their keys file, so it works with newer Bluray releases. Surely VLC will make a statement about this soon.

I have no problem with older Bluray movies i bought a year or two ago, but the newest one i bought - 'Prometheus' gives me the same error message and will not play.
