Play Subtitles, without video available?

Postby Epamitut » 20 Sep 2012 20:03

Hi forum.

Let me know if through VLC, Can I play Subtitles without video available?
Useful when the video is just available in streaming (online) on web browser.

I know an app, "Greenfish Subtitle Player". But it's abandoned and has trouble with non-Anglo accents.
This needs the MS .Net Framework 4 Client Profile.

Is your online video being played in your web browser?
VLC Extension: Subtitler (lite) - watch your subtitles (.srt) in a dialog box window placed over your web browser window (leftAlt+Tab).
However, you still need some media playing in VLC as the extension depends on its time. The best would be some audio file - long silence, but you can also play whatever film with muted sound to not disturb online video. Then manual synchronisation is a bit tricky but possible.
Please let me know if this method works for you
