Update won't take

Postby zlloyd1 » 01 Sep 2012 05:08

I have been using the VLC Media Player for over 2 years now and recently it has started updating almost every day, with what seems to be the same exact update.... I think that for some reason, it is downloading the update, which crashes whatever video I was trying to play, and it is not installing the update correctly, so it keeps trying to do the same update over and over. :? I am hoping that someone can tell me how to stop this from happening constantly!! :?:

I am using a Dell Desktop xps 8300 and running Windows 7 Home premium OS....

Sounds To me like you do not have the appropriate permissions for the update to complete. Try right clicking VLC and choosing "Run as Administrator", enter the appropriate credentials and then update.

Download the full VLC installer from the official download page then reboot your computer and try to install again.
