Reset the preferences, exit and uninstall VLC, reboot your computer, then reinstall VLC and set the file associations you want during the setup.
Nonsense. See viewtopic.php?f=14&t=106319#p365015It's nonsense to have to uninstall and reinstall to change associations, especially since the installer grabs associations that were UNchecked during the install.
