DVD menu problem when using vlc 0.82

We are trying to both play a DVD locally (with menus) and stream that DVD at the same time. We are using the following commands:

dvd://D: --sout=#duplicate{dst=display,dst=std{access=udp,mux=ts,url=228.1.1.1:1234}}

This works fine on some DVD's but not on others. It appears that if the DVD has menus that use moving video as their backdrop then all is ok...however if the DVD has menus which have no moving video then the local playback fails (no video is displayed) and the stream fails to start.

Spiderman 2 is an example of a working DVD and Mighty Joe Young is one that fails. It appears therefore that this behaviour is possibly a bug in VLC 0.82 on Windows or Linux.

Is this a known problem? Is there a workaround?
